Privacy Policy
Guardian Transportation Ltd. (“Guardian,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through guardiantransportationltd.com (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have.
This policy applies only to the Site itself. Our operating companies (such as Denny’s Bus Lines) collect and handle personal information — including student transportation information — under their own privacy practices and the contracts they hold with school boards.
1. Information we collect
The Site is an informational website. It does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or advertising trackers, and it does not host contact forms.
To understand overall traffic patterns and improve the Site, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics service. Cloudflare Web Analytics collects aggregate, non-identifying information about visits — such as page URL, referrer, browser and operating system, and approximate country derived from IP address. Cloudflare processes IP addresses only briefly to derive country and does not retain them, does not fingerprint your device, and does not track you across other websites. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for full details.
The only personal information we receive through the Site is the information you choose to send us if you click an email link (such as info@guardiantransportationltd.com) to contact us. That information typically includes your name, email address, and any details you include in your message.
2. How we use your information
We use information you send us to:
- Respond to your inquiry;
- Continue related business communications with you;
- Maintain records of our correspondence as needed to operate our business; and
- Comply with applicable laws and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or marketing to third parties.
3. Service providers
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate our website and business communications. Each processes information under its own terms and privacy commitments:
- Netlify, Inc. — hosts the Site’s files and serves them to your browser. Netlify may collect basic technical information (such as IP address and browser type) in server logs as part of standard web operations.
- Cloudflare, Inc. — provides the cookieless Web Analytics service described in Section 1, and hosts the fonts used on the Site (via Google Fonts served through public CDNs).
- Google Workspace — hosts our business email accounts, including the address you use to contact us. Messages you send are stored on Google’s servers subject to Google’s terms and privacy policy.
- GoDaddy — manages the DNS for our domain.
We do not otherwise share your personal information with third parties except (a) with your consent, (b) with our advisors and contracted service providers who need it to help us operate, or (c) as required by law.
4. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, tax, and business record-keeping requirements. When it is no longer needed for those purposes, we take reasonable steps to delete or securely destroy it.
5. Security
The Site is served over HTTPS with a valid TLS certificate. Our email is protected by Google Workspace’s standard security controls, including encryption in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to safeguard the information we hold.
6. Your rights
Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and comparable provincial legislation, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Ask us to delete personal information we no longer need to retain;
- Withdraw consent to further use of your information, subject to legal and contractual restrictions; and
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@guardiantransportationltd.com. We will respond within a reasonable time frame.
7. Children
The Site is intended for a general adult audience — typically school district administrators, prospective operators, professional partners, and job-seekers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Site.
Where our operating companies handle information about student riders in the course of providing transportation services, that information is governed by the contracts between those companies and the applicable school boards.
8. International transfers
Some of the service providers we use may store or process information outside of Canada, including in the United States. When we work with such providers, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to receive a level of protection consistent with Canadian privacy standards.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention.
